Admissions Information
The British International School Shanghai, Puxi is an inclusive school. We have over 60 nationalities among a 1500-strong student body, all of whom are unique and have a range of academic and co-curricular abilities.
We do have a few stipulated entry requirements that families must provide upon applying.
These include:
- last two years of school reports (in English if possible)
- medical and passport documentation
- Students entering Year 7 and above will be asked to take an online assessment
We are an English-speaking school, and therefore having a good grasp of the language is a significant advantage. However, we do provide EAL (English as an Additional Language) lessons for those students who require additional support.
Some students may need additional, specialised support due to a moderate learning difficulty. This can be generally supported through the development of an IEP (Individual Education Plan) that can be designed by our Learning Support Coordinator. However, due to our limited capacity to support SEND here in Shanghai, it is the school policy not to accept students that require more extensive support.
